We know that many English learners around the world are looking for high quality materials to help them reach their goals. Technology makes it possible to reach out to these large numbers of language learners, but it can be difficult to find online materials that fit well with important principles of language teaching and learning. So we have made it our mission to help solve this problem, and we are guided by this question:
How can we use the most important principles of language teaching and learning to develop online materials that are effective, efficient, and enjoyable?

Hi, I'm Ruby and I'm a co-founder of weblengs. You'll see and hear me in lots of the audio and video recordings in our materials! I've been teaching English, training teachers, and developing materials for over 20 years. As a faculty member in the department of English at Arizona State University, I work in many different ways with students who are interested in English education. One of my favorite ways to connect with English language learners is through the development of innovative and fun learning materials. I hope our materials open doors for you, and I can't wait to connect with you in our activities!

I've been involved in English language education for over 25 years, and I'm an associate professor of applied linguistics at Arizona State University -- here are some more details about that. Believe it or not, I really enjoy developing materials for English learning and teaching -- it's challenging and it's also a chance to be creative and have fun!
